How to Dry Wet Sneakers After Rain
Start with the wettest areas
Blot the outside with a clean, dry cloth. Work gently around stitching, printed panels and trim. If the lining is damp, loosen the laces and lift the tongue to open the shoe. Take out the insoles only if they lift easily. Leave glued insoles in place.
Let air do the drying
Set the shoes in a shaded, ventilated room. Keep both openings clear and dry removable insoles separately. Loosely placed plain white paper can absorb excess moisture inside the toe box. Replace it when damp and remove it once the lining stops feeling wet. Avoid radiators and hot hair dryers, especially when you are unsure what the upper or trim is made of.
Check the lining before you lace up
Press a dry tissue against the toe lining and heel padding. If either area leaves a damp mark, give the shoes more time. Check the underside of removable insoles before putting them back. Once everything is dry, relace loosely and adjust the tension on foot.
